Most of the eyes are focused on Mitt Romney and John McCain. Mike Huckabee, who is fresh off his Iowa win, and clearly has the ball in his court, was obviously on receiving end of constant attacks by Romney in last nights debate, which I missed, but I will watch the replay tonight on CNN. I will have a better understanding of what happened after I watch the debate tonight, so I will get back to you guys then

Iowa Results

Ok......the first caucus of the 2008 presidental race is over. The results are as follows

Democratic

Barack Obama 38%
John Edwards 30%
Hillary Clinton 29%
Bill Richardson 2%
Joe Biden 1%
Chris Dodd 0%
Mike Gravel 0%
Dennis Kucinich 0%

Republican

Mike Huckabee 34%
Mitt Romney 25%
Fred Thompson 13%
John McCain 12%
Ron Paul 10%
Rudy Giuliani 4%
Duncan Hunter 1%

In other news:

Chris Dodd and Joe Biden have both announced that they will drop out of the 2008 presidental race. I'm sure after New Hampshire many more will follow.

Biggest suprise:

There were a few. I was really suprised, yet pleased, to see the amount Huckabee won by. I was expecting much closer. Same way with Obama. I was very pleased to see Edwards squeak by Clinton. Fred Thompson also had a good showing. Rumors were going around that if Thompson finished lower than third, he would drop out. Of course, he never said if they were true or not, but seems like he's going to fight on for the time being.

Biggest Dissapointment:

I was really hoping Bill Richardson would have a good showing. Even though I am siding with the republicans, I do like him and was hoping he would do well. I beleive he will drop out after NH or SC.

Well....that's it for Iowa....on to New Hampshire, and see what happens from there

BIG DAY IN IOWA!!!!!!!!

Today is caucus day in Iowa. So, who has the best chance of coming out on top tonight?? Who knows? There is practicaly a 3 way tie in the republican race between Huckabee, McCain, and Romney. Hillary Clinton still has a decent lead overall, but Obama might have a chance of beating Clinton tonight. Some people say that Clinton could finish third between Obamba and Edwards. Ron Paul may not finish in the top 3, but there is some speculation that he may have a strong finish, possiably coming in double digits. Anything can happen tonight, and I have a funny feeling we will be some suprises in the results. We will see.........
